Tehran Times reported that Iran plans to boost the worth of its annual non oil exports to USD 48 to USD 50 billion by the end of current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2015).

Mr Valiollah Afkhami Rad director of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran said that the country's value of annual non oil exports is planned to rise by 20% and reach USD 60 billion in the next Iranian calendar year (March 2015 to March 2016).

In December 2014, Mr Hassan Rouhani president of Iran said that the government aimed to increase non oil exports to USD 50 billion by the next calendar year.

Traditionally, Iran relies heavily on oil for revenue. With sanctions restricting oil exports, the government has worked to advance other parts of the economy.
