Romania’s largest steel plant, ArcelorMittal Galati invests EUR 4.75 mln in new technology

ArcelorMittal Galati, Romania’s largest steel plant, has invested EUR 4.75 million in a station for demineralized water used to produce steam for various technological processes.

The investment will allow the company to be more independent in providing raw materials, according to the plant’s representatives, cited by local Wall-street.ro.

It will also reduce the production costs. The company tries to reduce costs to increase competitiveness, said Bruno Ribo, general director with ArcelorMittal Galati.

Earlier this year, ArcelorMittal group also invested EUR 3 million in a new vacuum pump, to increase the energy efficiency of its steel plant in Galati, Romania.
