Continuous Casting

In the steel industry, Continuous Casting refers to the procedure wherein steel in its molten form is coagulated and hardened to take the shape of a semi-finished billet, bloom or slab for consequential malleability within the confines of the steel finishing mills. These billets, blooms or slabs are further transformed into sheets by rolling for eventual utilisation. This process is also termed as Strand Casting.
