Trostre steelworkers roll up their sleeves in support of Foothold Cymru
16 September 2025
Before the weather turned gloomy, colleagues from Tata Steel UK’s Packaging team took advantage of the sunshine to volunteer with Foothold Cymru, a long-standing community partner based in Llanelli.
The team spent the day helping out in the social justice charity’s community garden and took part in a litter pick around the site, making a visible difference to the local area and connecting with the people behind the organisation’s vital work.
Tata Steel UK has worked with Foothold Cymru for several years, supporting their mission to create stronger, more sustainable communities across West Wales – and ensuring everyone has access to a decent standard of living.
Huw Morgan, Sales Director at Tata Steel UK, said:
“Foothold is a wonderful charity in Llanelli, helping to improve local lives for many years.
“It was a great opportunity to bring some of our Packaging team together and spend some time working with Foothold to contribute to their efforts and support the local community at our site in Trostre.”
Foothold Cymru shared their thanks on social media after the visit:
“Not only did [the Tata Steel UK volunteering team] help tidy up the garden, pull weeds, dig up beds and help lay down some new chippings — they also did a litter pick around the site. Thanks so much for all your help!”
This visit was a simple yet meaningful way to give back and a reminder of the wider impact we can make when we work hand in hand with our communities.
At Tata Steel UK, we are proud to support the places where we live and work — helping to create cleaner, greener spaces and stronger communities together.
