JSW Steel production rises 26% in FY 17

JSW Steel production of crude steel rose 26% to 15.8 million tonne (mt) in FY 17 compared to 12.56 mt in FY 16.

Out of this, production of flat steel products saw a 23 % rise to 11.41 mt during FY 17 over 9.31 mt in FY 16. Long products saw an 18% increase in production to 3.21 mt in FY 17 against 2.73 mt in FY 16.The company has been able to meet 100% of the production guidance given before 2016-17.

During Q4FY17, JSW Steel is estimated to have seen a 28% jump in production of crude steel to 4.1 mt compared to 3.21mt in Q4FY 16.

Flat products production saw an increase of 25% to 2.98 mt during the quarter against 2.38 mt in the previous corresponding quarter. Long products output went up 7% to 0.82 mt in Q4FY 17 compared to 0.77 mt in Q4FY 16.
