Tata Steel registers high hot metal, crude steel production

Tata Steel registered hot metal and crude steel production of 10.15 million tonnes and 9.32 million tonnes respectively in the financial year 2015.

The sale able steel production was higher at 9.07 million tonnes, 1.6 percent up as compared to last year's figure of 8.93 million tonnes.

Hot metal production, which was 9.90 million tonnes last year, recorded 2.52 percent increase at 10.15 million tonnes while the crude steel was up by 1.85 percent against 9.15 million tones in Fy-14, a Tata Steel press release today said.

On the raw-material front, the company has recorded highest ever Bharat Coking Coal Limited purchase of 5 lakh tonnes in FY15 than the previous year's best of 3.67 lakh tonnes.

The West Bokaro achieved additional revenue generation through sales of middling on Gross Calorific Value basis, the release said.
