Project Overview In September 2006, Saudi Arabia based Al-Tuwairqi Group staged plans to establish 4 steel mills in Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt. These projects are expected to be completed by 2009. Total installation cost of these projects is estimated at US$533 million. Upon accomplishment of these projects Al-Tuwairqi shall become the largest steel producer in the Middle East. The company aims at rapidly expanding its operations while maintaining the expansion costs to the minimum. The development is a part of the company?s broader vision to reach an annual production capacity of 5 million tons through the next decade.
