ArcelorMittal Galati announces the launching of a new family of products - organic coated coils, following an EUR 15 Million investment.

“We are proud to open a totally-new industrial activity in our Unit, which will deliver high-added value products. This shows the commitment of ArcelorMittal for Galati and for Romania”, said Bruno Ribo, Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Galati – Skopje.

With an up to 90.000 tons per year capacity, the line supplies especially for the domestic market, currently dominated by imports, but showing a promise of growth. The Organic Coated Line produces strips over a large range of thicknesses and widths, single and double - sided coatings of various depths and both gloss and matt finishes.

The investment targets to satisfy the customer expectations of segments like: roofing, drainage systems, sandwich panels, industrial coolers and others.

The investment pack incorporates also significant technical updates carried out in the Galati Galvanizing Line, for ensuring an excellent underlying substrate for the coating line.
