SANY Impresses at the Mining and Metals Central Asia & Kazcomak, Boosting Development in Region

9 October 2023

SANY Group, a leading global heavy machinery manufacturer, recently participated in the Mining and Metals Central Asia & Kazcomak exhibition held from September 20 to 22 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This event is recognized as one of the most significant mining machinery expos in Central Asia and attracted over 10 industry leaders and approximately 40,000 visitors. During the exhibition, SANY secured intended orders totaling RMB 21.4 million.

SANY showcased six units of its latest flagship equipment at the exhibition, including the STC300V truck crane, 115S off-highway mining truck, and excavator, garnering significant attention. The company also enlivened the atmosphere with captivating performances, interactive activities, and games that resonated with visitors.

As one of the earliest engineering machinery companies to respond to China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), SANY established its Central Asia Business Unit in 2014, introducing high-quality products that have played a crucial role in supporting the region's infrastructure development.

In 2018, ENTER, one of Uzbekistan's largest engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies, formed a partnership with SANY. Under the agreement, ENTER acquired 44 pieces of SANY cranes, and to date, over 1700 units of SANY equipment from the company have been involved in various regional projects. Notably, these projects include the construction of Central Asia's first nuclear power station and a gas-to-liquids plant in Uzbekistan, contributing significantly to the country's socioeconomic growth.

Additionally, in line with the global trend of low-carbon development, SANY has actively engaged in new energy initiatives in the region. In July of this year, SANY delivered ten wind turbines to Kazakhstan's Alkarek wind power project. Remarkably, SANY's cranes completed the lifting work in just 52 days, impressing the customer. Once operational, the project is expected to provide 170 million kWh of clean electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 176,000 tons. This supports Kazakhstan's clean energy transition and carbon neutrality goals.

Over the years, SANY has become deeply entrenched in the market, thanks to its high-quality products and exceptional after-sales service. Currently, SANY holds a 61% market share for wheeled cranes in Kazakhstan, with further growth anticipated in the coming years. Yang Lei, General Manager of the SANY Central Asia Business Unit, emphasized SANY's commitment to collaborating with local customers to drive the region's development forward.
