Taseko Mines: Programmatic Agreement Executed With Epa For Florence Copper Project

31 August 2023

Taseko Mines Limited (TSX: TKO) (NYSE American: TGB) (LSE: TKO), known as "Taseko," is delighted to announce a significant milestone in its engagement with the National Historic Preservation Act ("NHPA") Section 106 process. The culmination of this process has resulted in the execution of a Programmatic Agreement ("PA"), which has garnered the necessary signatures, including those of the United States Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA") and Taseko.

This newly enacted PA stands as a directive for the treatment, management, and safeguarding of cultural resources located within the confines of the Florence Project site, aligning seamlessly with the provisions set forth by the NHPA. Initially introduced in draft form by the EPA in August 2022, this preliminary version was subjected to public scrutiny and feedback. The final iteration of the PA, now executed, has thoughtfully addressed the received comments before its finalization.

Stuart McDonald, the President & CEO of Taseko, shared his insights on this development: "The formalization of the Programmatic Agreement holds immense significance within the EPA's intricate permitting process and serves as a promising indicator that the EPA is progressing towards its conclusive determination concerning Florence Copper's Underground Injection Control permit."
