ChromX (MMFX)
ChromX, also known as MMFX, is a high strength, corrosion resistant concrete reinforcing steel. It is produced to the ASTM A1035 standard which is available in two grades (strength levels) and three chromium levels. Typical grade names are ChromX9100, ChromX4100, and ChromX2100. Our Sales Team will gladly describe these grades and their availability. ChromX is available as Straight Rebar, Coiled Rebar, Round bar (including dowel bars), and Wire Rod.
ChromX Rebar
The two ChromX rebar grades, with 100 ksi and 120 ksi yield strengths, can allow less steel to be used relative to typical rebar which is available in 40 ksi to 100 ksi grades. The three chromium levels (Type CS, CM, and CL) provide varying amounts of elevated corrosion resistance.
