Litz Wire

The term “Litz” is derived from the German "litzendraht" meaning woven wire. Litz wire is constructed of individually insulated magnet wires bunched or braided together in a uniform pattern so that each strand takes all possible positions in the cross section of the overall conductor.

MWS offers Served or Unserved insulated Litz Wire with a Single build of Polyurethane, Polyurethane Nylon or a Heavy Build of Polyurethane, Polyurethane Nylon. We work closely with the finest producers of Litz in the U.S. as well as with our parent company Elektrisola who is one of the largest producers of Litz wire in the world. Elektrisola now enables us to offer Taped Litz Wire for the growing EV (electric vehicle) market.
