Sioux Manufacturing Corporation (SMC) is an experienced manufacturer of composite armor made Firing Rangefrom such materials as Kevlar®, S-2 Glass®, Spectra Shield®, Twaron®, and E-Glass. Along with weaving and prepregging Kevlar®, SMC molds and machines all of the various materials to a customer's specifications. SMC also has the ability to conduct ballistic tests on the armor it produces in its fully equipped ballistic testing facility.

SMC produces several types of composite armor used for ballistic protection by the U.S. armed forces, the U.S. diplomatic corps, and federal law enforcement agencies. SMC is a supplier of bonded-armor assemblies for U.S. military aircraft, boat armor for U.S. surface vessels, body armor for U.S. armed forces personnel, and ballistic floors for U.S. government vehicles.

As a result of their expertise in the area of composite armor, SMC, in conjunction with other defense contractors, is currently conducting research and development for new composite armor processes that utilize CAV (Composite Armored Vehicle) technologies. It is this ability to manufacture composite bonded-armor panels and liners that has enabled SMC to remain progressive in the area of ballistic protection for the next generation of U.S. military and government vehicles.
