Quality Control

Quality Control

AISC Certification sets the accepted standard for Quality Control in the structural steel industry. Woolf Steel was the first fabricator in Central Pa to be recognized with this distinction, and has maintained its certification since the inception of the program in 1993. Companies, like Woolf Steel, that are AISC Certified have been through a rigorous initial evaluation, and are subject to annual inspections. The program requires a significant investment of time and personnel to implement special procedures and training to ensure that the documentation and the materials produced meet specific requirements. An independent auditing company is used to confirm that Woolf Steel has the personnel, knowledge, organization, equipment, experience, capability, procedures, and commitment to produce and supply high-quality structural steel products that meet national construction standards.

The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), headquartered in Chicago, is a not-for-profit technical institute and trade association established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry in the United States. AISC’s mission is to make structural steel the material of choice by being the leader in structural-steel-related technical activities, including: specification and code development, research, education, technical assistance, quality certification and standardization.
