Project Overview Shaoguan steel Group of Beijing and Bao Shan Steel of China entered into an agreement with Guangdong's Zhanjiang municipal government for installing an iron and steel plant. The project was initiated in May 2006 and is destined to be one of the largest plants in China. The project with a registered capital of 20 billion Yuan involves an investment of 140 billion Yuan. Initial production capacity of the plant is estimated to be 10 million tons, which would increase to 20 million tons when the plant would become fully operational. The plant shall supply steel to the automobile and consumer electronic industries.
