Introduction:

Nucor Corporation (NYSE: NUE) plans to invest $59 million to expand its Vulcraft Indiana manufacturing facility in St. Joe, Indiana. The investment will add capabilities to produce steel grating products and strengthen the company’s downstream manufacturing capacity.

Features:

The expansion will enable Vulcraft Indiana to manufacture steel grating products used as structural support systems for roofs and floors in warehouses, data centres, manufacturing facilities, retail stores, schools, hospitals and other buildings.

Vulcraft has an annual joist and deck production capacity of approximately 1.2 million tons. The investment will strengthen the company’s ability to serve customers and expand its downstream production capabilities.

The project is expected to create 20 new full-time jobs, adding to more than 300 employees currently working at the St. Joe facility.

Nucor currently employs more than 2,600 people across more than a dozen locations in Indiana. The investment will further expand the company’s manufacturing footprint in the state.
