Project Overview Samoa Qian Ding, a major steel manufacturer in Taiwan staged plans to install a 720,000 tons hot and cool-rolling steel producing facility in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province of Vietnam in November 2004. Installation cost of the plant is estimated at US$650 million, and is intended to exploit the natural resources in Vietnam. The company shall export 80% of the total output to Taiwan and other international markets. The plant employs 700 workers and is the largest stainless steel production plant in Southeast Asia.
