OUR STORY
John and Karma Rouse, the owners of WEMCO, met in 1976 while working for a concrete company. John was the Equipment Manager with the responsibility of maintaining and repairing all of the paving equipment and batch plants. Karma worked in the office and was the first to arrive each morning. Both of them loved the industry and loved their work. When the concrete company sold out to a large corporation, John and Karma took the opportunity to start their own business. Just like before, Karma ran the office, and John ran the shop. WEMCO produced concrete batch plants, cranes, and highly sophisticated self-propelled harvesters, which are all in service to this day!
In 2004, their son, Juston, joined the family business. Juston was a sponge and learned every step of the manufacturing process. He did everything from sweeping floors to welding cranes. He learned to budget and organize from his mom and learned to build and install equipment from his dad. He worked in every position within the company and is now the Vice President of Business Development. Juston has always been grateful for the opportunities he was given. He made it his mission to grow the business so he could share his knowledge and give the same opportunities to as many other people as possible.
Matt Turner, Vice President of Operations, started out at WEMCO in the purchasing department while earning his undergraduate at Gonzaga, and his MBA at Whitworth University. His role changed from buyer to purchasing manager, to project manager, production manager, operations manager, and now VP of Operations. Matt is a problem solver. He will rise to any challenge and he thrives oncustomer satisfaction. His professionalism and communication inspire everyone around him. The entire WEMCO team consists of talented, motivated, hard-working individuals who have worked countless hours to ensure that every job is done right. The managers in every department have held the roles of those they lead and they truly enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience while continuing to learn.
