Woodbine Tool & Die Manufacturing Ltd. (WTD) is a wholly owned Canadian Corporation founded in 1979. Over the past four decades, our company has provided the marketplace with quality dies, stamped and assembled parts primarily for the automotive industry. The manufacturing plant is registered to the internationally recognized Quality Management System Standard IATF 16949, First Edition.

1979      

Woodbine Tool & Die Manufacturing Ltd. was founded as a small tool and die shop.

1990      

Due to growing customer requirements, WTD expands its operations into a new 50,000 ft² building with half the building devoted to stamping production, becoming one of the larger privately owned tool and die shops in Ontario.

2000      

WTD registers and adheres to the Quality System Requirements of QS9000:1998.

2001      

The company expands again, moving the Stamping operation into a new custom built 100,000 ft² facility. Officially opened for business in December of 2000, the state-of-the-art Stamping Division houses multiple late model stamping presses ranging in size from 100 to 800 Ton capacity, with feed-line capacity of 57 inch width and up to 0.375 inch thickness. The company also invests in over 20 TIG and projection welding and assembly work centers including 5 robotic MIG welding cells completing the transition to a full service supplier.

The Tooling Division expands into the vacancy left by the departing stamping operation to 50,000 ft² adding additional cranes and machining facilities to virtually double its tool building capacity.

2003      

The Stamping Division was awarded with several major automotive contracts adding 5 more presses ranging from 500 to 1000 ton.

2005      

The Stamping Division expands for a third time with the completion of a 50,000 ft² addition to the building used to support current & future growth. Additional robotic MIG cells are also purchased.

2006      

WTD develops and registers the manufacturing processes to comply with the Quality Management System requirements of the Technical Specification ISO/TS 16949:2002.

2008      

Woodbine Tool and Die expands its business model to include manufacturing for the alternative energy industry.

2010      

The company designs and manufactures its own proprietary WTD 10kW Solar Tracker engineered with the strength and durability necessary to stand up to the harshest elements of the Canadian environment.

2012      

WTD partners with a leading American solar racking company to manufacture and assemble commercial fixed ground mount and roof mount solar racking. Over the past 3 years, the company has built enough tracked, fixed ground and roof mount racking to support over 200MW of solar power across Ontario.

2014      

WTD's expertise with in-die tapping technology helps the company become a leading supplier of these specialty tools for several OEMs within the North American automotive market.

2018      

WTD registers with the Automotive Quality Management System Standard IATF 16949:2016.

2020      

Woodbine Tool & Die Manufacturing Ltd. restructure activities:

  • Operates from the manufacturing plant location
  • Continues the manufacturing of stamped and assembled products
  • Maintains control of the tooling management for new builds and repairs
