Vedanta Aluminum, one of the largest aluminum producers in the world, has achieved the top position in the esteemed S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) 2023 ranking for the aluminum industry, confirming its position as the most sustainable producer aluminum in the world, which outperforms global competitors in Environmental, Social and Governance ( ESG) practices.
S&P Global CSA is the leading independent assessment of corporate sustainability, providing an annual assessment of the sustainable practices of more than 10,000 companies worldwide. Vedanta Aluminum scored high on the criteria assessed, especially in biodiversity, occupational health and safety, social impact, human rights, talent planning and water management practices.
Vedanta Aluminum is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050, adopting a two-pronged strategy to reduce and offset its carbon footprint. In terms of reducing its carbon footprint, the company is focused on increasing the use of renewable energy sources, improving manufacturing excellence to ensure higher operational efficiency and transitioning to low-carbon energy sources.
