SMALL SCREW CONVEYOR SYSTEMS

SMALL SCREW CONVEYOR SYSTEMS

Screw conveyors are the simplest, most budget-friendly option for transferring materials at rates of up to 40 tons per hour over distances of up to 65 feet. Screw conveyors help move materials that are being transferred to bins or other material handling locations. A dual auger design can determine if the material will move left or right to accommodate your needs.

Screw conveyors are flexible and, depending on their diameter, can be curved to some extent. A special heat-treated, tempered carbon or stainless steel spiral rotates with an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) food-grade tube. The transport of material occurs by the turning of a helix screw in a trough casing. The particles should be smaller than the screw pitch. The screws can have constant, variable, or tapered pitch. In tapered pitch, the distance between the grooves gradually decreases down the length of the conveyor.

We can help your company use screw conveyors to meet your specific needs. For instance, small screws with round cross sections are resilient and strong in harsh conditions, while screws with flat cross-sections are more suited for high velocity applications. The trough casing can be round, rectangular, or U-shaped.

The picture below to the left shows a single helical screw conveyor, and the picture below to the right shows a dual auger design.
