Machining

Fortis' manufacturing facilities offer machining and welding services as part of the entire fabrication process. Fortis machines many of the custom mining attachments required by our clients including chaseblocks, cheeseweights, swivels and sockets. Fortis' welding shop has fabricated numerous custom products and equipment for customers as well as equipment that is used by Fortis, including safety barriers and reeling machines. Fortis Machine shop is a quality driven well-diversified shop. We have highly-skilled Journey persons and machinists that are experienced in custom machined products and rebuilt products.
With access to a manufacturing shop and support from our engineering department, we can design and build solutions to our customer's needs. We are able to prioritize and bring things on line quickly, hence, meeting tight schedules. Our strength and advantage is based on our ability to produce custom designs for our clients.
We are capable of machining steel, iron, brass, bronze, stainless, and plastics. We also have a wide range of sizes in 4140, 1018 and aluminum in inventory for those quick deliveries. Our machine capabilities are:
