Commercial Pedestal

Commercial pedestals, part of Milbank’s enclosed controls line, are weather-resistant electrical enclosures consisting of a utility pull section with optional meter socket and a customer section containing distribution and control equipment. They can be used anytime underground power distribution is required. Milbank engineers specialize in custom designing commercial pedestals to suit nearly any specification need.

The alternative to a commercial pedestal, or any enclosed control, is a strut and backboard system. In this system, individual components are mounted to strut, thus leaving them vulnerable to the elements and power theft. They also have a larger footprint and are visually disruptive to green spaces and cityscapes.

Enclosed controls and commercial meter pedestals offer all power distribution components inside one enclosure. These NEMA 3R enclosures are weather-resistant and secured against theft. They are more visually appealing in the space and contain the capacity to provide distribution to numerous applications.
