Manual Welding Fixtures

Manual Welding Fixtures

Manual Welding Fixtures & Tack Welding Fixtures are tools designed to be used by a human welder to complete a welding process, whether it is completing a full weld or tack welds only. The fixtures may be automated with pneumatic clamping, or the fixtures may be able to use manual clamping for effective part holding. For large workpieces, hydraulic welding fixtures may be required to handle the load the part exerts on the tooling. Manual welding fixtures are designed to assist the human welder and produce more reliable results in a production welding process.

Manual Clamping Fixtures are fixtures designed with manual hand clamps. These fixtures may be used in manual welding or robotic welding setups. These fixtures rely more on the operator to properly position parts than is required for a pneumatic or hydraulic welding fixture. Generally manual clamping is used to reduce costs of tooling implementation and eliminate the need for electrical or pneumatic/hydraulic buildout on a fixture.

Stryver has built both fixture types over the years and has recommended different manual weld tooling strategies based on the application. We have worked with customers to replace hastily made manual weld tools with quality tooling intended to last for 10, 20, 30+ years. Those tools also included the mechanical drawing package to allow for easy component modification or replacement over the lifecycle of the production program.
