Slab cutting machines
ALBA slab cutting machines are designed to work in continuous casting plants for slab cutting and are well known for their reliability, sturdiness and short cutting times. They can work in automatic, semi-automatic or manual mode reaching maximum performance as well as the best cutting quality .
The machine is equipped with 2 high-performance water-cooled ALBACUT type torches, with integrated pilot flame systems for normal cuts, granulation system, fluid control system, measuring system and all other necessary accessories and safety equipment. The machine moves on 4 wheels (2 moving wheels + 2 driving wheels).
The machine structure, vice system, torch-holder carriages and torches are cooled by a controlled flow water system and are protected from sparks with metal shields.
The machine is equipped with an automatic centralized greasing system for easy maintenance.
Special features
The machine can be optionally equipped with the following special features:
- Billet length measuring roller;- 2 torches for cutting specimens in line;- Up / down system for automatic adjustment of the height of the torch according to the different thicknesses of the slabs;- Iron powder injection system for cutting stainless steel- Mechanical leachate removal system
During the sequence the machine is clamped to the line by means of a pneumatic clamp system. In this way the synchronized movement of the machine is guaranteed. Then the cutting cycle will begin with the heating phase and the subsequent cutting phase. At the end of the cut, the carriages will release the line by opening the vice. They will return to the starting position thanks to their own motorization, ready for the new cycle.
Designed and built considering all the necessary conditions in order to prevent risks for personnel and for the plant during operation and maintenance, the machine will be equipped with all safety systems in accordance with international standards.
