LASER WELDING

The strength of weld joints is critical on a complex mechanical assembly to ensure the product performs to its intended application and functionality. In addition to spot or resistant welding, Connor uses the most advanced laser technologies to weld different metal parts into an assembly. Our welding work cells are usually highly automated to achieve operation efficiency for better cost savings, producing the highest quality product for our customers. Additional advantages of our laser welding process are the short time cycles and minimal deformation due to reduced thermic effect.

Flexible busbars consist of layers of high conductivity copper foils that are bonded together at the mounting areas with heat and pressure but provide flexibility throughout the rest of the busbar. As the bond strength is achieved by pressure, temperature, time of contact, and cleanliness of the surface, the cycle time for diffusion bonding is usually longer. For better quality, efficiency, and faster turn-around time, Connor uses automated robots in our diffusion bonding cells.
