The FRANTZ chamfered bearings are another example of FRANTZ providing the optimal product for the proper application.Chamfered BearingsIn specialty applications where the bearing or roller location does not remain stationary, the chamfered inner race feature designed into the bearings are often used to eliminate the roller from interfering with the mating rail or other structural component. The chamfered inner race allows for a lower profile mount under the rails or cover plates, eliminating obstruction when employing vertical movement or lift.A specific and common application for the chamfered bearings is one used in the floor of semi-trailer trucks which transport goods on pallets. These trucks are commonly fitted with short, stubby rollers which pneumatically or mechanically raise from the trailer floor to allow the pallet to easily glide over the floor. Once the pallets are loaded, the rollers are returned below floor level allowing the cargo to remain stable during transportation.
