Shot Peening in Foundry in Permanent Mold

Shot Peening in Foundry in Permanent Mold

In permanent mold foundries, metals with low melting points, aluminum, zamak, magnesium, and even brass are worked.

The purpose of shot blasting is to make a first burr of the piece, detaching the metal remains formed in the closing of the mold and achieving a homogeneous aesthetic finish, hiding the small defects of the mold. In the case of hollow pieces, it is used to remove the core or heart of the piece.

The usual shot blasting machines for permanent mold casting foundries are tumble blasting machines, suspended load blasting machines, continuous wire mesh blasting machines.
